Where To Look First

Nelson County records are split by agency. The county jail handles current custody and jail services. The sheriff handles law-enforcement matters such as incident, accident, warrant, and open-records requests. Court records after an arrest are handled through the Nelson County Justice Center and the Circuit Court Clerk. State, federal, and immigration custody use separate locator systems.
